Don’t worry about if this is causing a real problem. I suggest two ways forward:
1) wrote the review without it and we can revisit it in your second draft.
2) write your review based on a different film where you do know about the director’s previous work/reputation.
How do these options sound?
Well to be honest with you Sir, I don’t know too much about any directors. Do you mind if I draft a structure and then work on it from there.
